At my core, I am endlessly curious about human experiences and driven to improve them by designing meaningful new products and experiences. Currently, I am a co-founder of Alt+Shift, building an inclusive community for investors to discover, learn, and invest in startups and private companies. I lead user-centered product strategy, brand & marketing, and our internal team & culture.
A seasoned empathetic researcher and strategist, I have collaborated to craft impactful approaches to a variety of user-centered design challenges, including product and service innovation, effective communication, team collaboration, and business models.
After earning my undergraduate degree in math and sociology, I spent a decade with Nielsen, developing and applying tools for understanding customer needs in order to drive strategic innovation decisions. While earning my MBA in Design Strategy at California College of the Arts, I expanded my skills and experiences both as a student and freelance consultant, including qualitative customer insights, concept development and testing, verbal and visual storytelling, business model assessment, operational planning, and financial analysis. Since then, I have directed both qualitative and quantitative strategic insights engagements, addressing a range of challenges including opportunity identification, ideation, brand positioning, and strategic communication. My current role leverages all of these skills in service of building a new business aimed at improving investing experiences for a new generation of investors.
Within teams, I motivate and develop others by helping them find work that resonates with them personally. I take time to recognize and appreciate great work. I also strive to connect with others by sharing my own experiences, both victories and challenges. In all of my endeavors, I have had the great fortune of partnering with a diverse, global, and interdisciplinary group of colleagues.
